FAQ
Who drafted these contracts?
Attorney for creators Brittany Ratelle. Brittany has been practicing law for more than a decade and has helped thousands of entrepreneurs start, scale, and protect their modern small businesses. She provides done-for-you legal services at Ratelle Law, but also offers more affordable resources here at Creative Contracts so that all entrepreneurs can protect their businesses and move forward with confidence.
How do I use contract templates?
3 Simple Steps
1)Buy the contract. You'll get a download link in your inbox within minutes.
2)Open the contract in a document editor like Word, Pages, or Google Docs. Follow the color-codes and the screenflow instructions. Takes less than 20 minutes.
3)Upload your polished agreement to your website, e-sign portal, or CRM like Honeybook, Dubsado, or 17 Hats. Send with swagger!
Why can't I use free contracts I found online?
You could. But, you know the saying "you get what you pay for"? It's kind of like that for contracts.
A rando contract MIGHT work -- and it might not. It may not have the industry terms that comes from drafting, negotiating, and reviewing HUNDREDS of these agreements for real-live clients. It also may not have the crazy "never-going-to-happen" kind of language that only attorneys think about -- the pampas grass fires, the creator getting sued for trademark infringement, the photographer who flooded a hotel room, the videographer who claimed to be a 50/50 business partner (these are all TRUE horror stories, unfortunately!)
If you're ready to act like a "real" business -- time to get a "real" contract.
Will these contracts work in my jurisdiction?
These contracts are drafted under the best principles of United States law and will work in all 50 states. If you are based outside of the US, you still may be able to use them if you want US law to govern your transaction or business relationship.
Please consult with a local attorney for any questions.
